Excel Files getting deleted by Quickheal and Seqrite Antivius
Global issue comes in Seqrite and Quickheal Antivirus. This was a False Positive Detection and We have released a solution in the latest VDB updates to disable it and to restore the quarantined files.
“All the excel files getting quarantine with the error message of virus found and extension of file is not valid.”
Solutions is that you need to update your Antivirus with latest patch.
How to Recover deleted Excel files which has been deleted and quarantined?

Q1. Files are deleted from Location and not found in Quarantine.
Ans: Files can be restored from CFR backup

Q2. Will files saved before 19th Nov will get restored from Quarantine with the latest updates?
Ans: Only the files which were False detected as \”XML.Trojan.47249\” will only be restored at original/source location.
Q3. Can we restore all the Quarantine files with a single click?
Ans: Auto Recovery option will restore all the Quarantine files at original/source location.
Q4. The data from email attachment is deleted, can I recover it?
Ans: The default action taken on email attachment is deletion.
Q5. I have \”Removed\” the data from Quarantine, now can I recover it?
Ans: We cannot recover the data which is removed from Quarantine. You can restore data if you have CFR Backup.

Q7. What is the manual procedure to restore Data from Quarantine?
Ans: You can select file and click on restore option. File will be restored at original/source location.
Q8. What if action taken is selected as \”DELETE\” in Scan Setting\’s?
Ans: Once the files are deleted, you can recover from CFR Backup.

Q9. What if the source location is not available for restoring Quarantine files?
Ans: We can manually restore the data at other location. (Select File > Restore > Choose other location to save)
Q10. How to view Quarantine Files?
Ans: Open Client Antivirus > Tools > \”View Quarantine Files\”
Q11. Data from few clients is still not restored automatically.
Ans: Check if the Client has latest VDB Update, if not please update the VDB and then check. you may also check the CFR Backup if required.
